US Government Announces Additional Section 232 Orders on Lumber Derivatives, Pharmaceuticals, and Heavy Machinery

The US Government has announced its plan to implement additional Section 232 orders on a wide range of goods with a reported effective tariff implementation date of October 1st. 

The list includes the following: 

  • Lumber Derivatives, including kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities, and upholstered furniture. 
    • The documentation for these products is available in the Federal Register here.
    • The reported potential tariff percentage is from 30% - 50%.
  • Heavy Machinery, including robotics and programmable, computer-controlled mechanical systems. 
    • The documentation for these products is available in the Federal Register here.
    • The reported potential tariff percentage is from 25% - 50%
  • Medical Equipment and Goods, including Personal Protective Equipment, medical instruments and supplies, and pharmaceuticals such as over-the-counter and specialty drugs. 
    • The documentation for these products is available in the Federal Register here
    • The reported potential tariff percentage is 100%.

These investigations are now open for public comment, but the proposed date of implementation has been reported as October 1st, 2025. 

Additionally, the tariff percentages are reported and have not been verified - they will likely change before the full implementation date.
