As per an executive order released on December 18, 2025, the US Government has announced that all Federal Government agencies are to be closed and their employees ‘excused from duty’ on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, and Friday, December 26, 2025 - the day before and after Christmas Day, respectively. 

For importers, this means that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) will be shut down for, effectively, five days beginning on the 24th and reopening on  Monday, December 29, 2025. 

This shutdown could lead to a significant delay in FDA processing, and all steps should be taken to prepare for it. To this end, it is recommended that you work closely with your broker to help mitigate the effect this delay could have on forthcoming shipments.
