This session will answer questions, offer practical solutions and help assist with preparation for the ACI eManifest regulations to take effect November 1, 2012. The intent of the ACI Program is to provide Canada Border Services Agency(CBSA) officers with electronic pre-arrival cargo and conveyance, shipper and importer data prior to arrival at the border. This session will be of interest to: truck owners and operators, self-carry importers, operation managers, drivers, dispatchers, shippers. It is important for highway carriers to understand that if they arrive at the border after midnight on October 31, 2012 without prior submission of an eManifest they WILL BE DENIED ENTRY INTO CANADA. Additionally, it is important to note that even though you may be set up for ACE eManifest into the USA you will still be required to set up for ACI eManfiest into Canada. The Canada Border Services Agency in cooperation with Pacific Customs Brokers and ABC Customs Brokers, are hosting an information forum to assist industry stakeholders in final preparation for the pending ACI eManifest enforcement deadline of May 1, 2013. Concerns related to shipments containing multiple bills of lading and how these are to be handled will be addressed by CBSA. This forum will be held in a “town hall” format, offering attendees the opportunity to ask senior officials of CBSA and CFIA questions.
